I was very excited to read this book after checking out the premise. The prologue started off strong, but I quickly became a little less enthused about it. I felt as if the forward momentum of the story in the first third kept getting stalled by mythological exposition. Also, overall, I didn't love the A plot mission. It was okay but nothing exciting. What I did love was the first person male POV. John's voice was great. And I loved the dynamic between him and Sig. I wish there had been more time to just hang out with these characters because the story really came alive for me then. Thanks to Orbit Books/Hachette Book Group and NetGalley for a copy in exchange for a fair and honest review.
