Tellulah Darling writes YA & New Adult romantic comedy because her first kiss sucked and she's compensating.
Sassy girls. Swoony boys. What could go wrong?
I wish I could remember who recommended this one to me so that I could thank them. I wasn't sure about the story initially. There's something about rich girls in high school being described as if they're going to a club that really puts me off. And great as Jack was, the phonetic spellings of his Cajun accented words got annoying.
That said, I just fell further and further into it. Did Evie's constant denial about her get a little irritating? Sure. But the mythology felt fresh, the world building was lovely, the conflicts just kept coming, and I actually approved of how a love triangle was set up. By the time we got the the end - wow! Really excited to read the next book and see where it all goes.
