Tellulah Darling writes YA & New Adult romantic comedy because her first kiss sucked and she's compensating.
Sassy girls. Swoony boys. What could go wrong?
From the reviews I'd read about this book, I had it in my head that the story was going to be incredibly complex. Maybe it was all the fairy tales I read as a child, but I knew exactly what was going on and what most of the twists were from the start because it was a mash up of various classical fairy tale elements. So I didn't think it was mindblowingly original. But I think that was more me having to adjust my expectations.
It's well written. I did get a little tired of Nyx and her vacillating between love and hate with her sister. But the relationships between her, the gentle lord and Shade were compelling. The stakes were definitely there and the action moved.
A solid read.
