I had the toughest time believing that Rye was a grown alpha male cowboy and not a teenage boy for about a third of the book. Something about him just seemed really young.I am a fan of small towns and sassy seniors, so all of that was fun. But I felt like the Mexican farmworkers weren't fully realized characters. They were just the good honest workers who help teach our heroine. It was a bit annoying.It did pick up after a while but I'm staying with 2 stars since I felt like I had to overcome a lot to get into the story.
