Tellulah Darling writes YA & New Adult romantic comedy because her first kiss sucked and she's compensating.
Sassy girls. Swoony boys. What could go wrong?
Do you ever get nervous about starting a book? Because you've heard such good things about it? Because in interviews the author seems so cool? And then you finally have it in your hand and you send up a little prayer that it will live up to the hype?
Or is that just me? Regardless, that's how I felt opening this book. And by the end of page one, I knew I didn't have to worry. This was a sit down, fall into and come up for air at the end read in one go story. (Okay, I lie. I read it in two shifts. But only because I had a spa appointment in the middle. And I put the book down very reluctantly.)
Nastya, Josh, Drew, Clay, Tierney - every one of these characters found their way into my heart. Their pain was real and believable and dealt with in true and organic levels of response ranging from silence to snark to charm to hostility. These teens were so good at letting people see what they wanted everyone to, that when real connections were formed, I cheered and fell in love.
Every facet of the story was so alive and so beautifully wrought.
So pick up this wonderful book and allow yourself to be swept away by The Sea Of Tranquility.
