Tellulah Darling writes YA & New Adult romantic comedy because her first kiss sucked and she's compensating.
Sassy girls. Swoony boys. What could go wrong?
I picked this up on NetGalley after reading a review about how hilarious it was. Mildly amusing maybe. The premise is fun - a group of teens can read thoughts after getting a flu shot. So it's lots of juicy gossip and learning more than they wanted to.
Except it wasn't all that juicy. In fact, the entire story read really young to me. Also, the story is narrated by the entire group. Not as POV chapters but a single voice with the characters presented in third person. I just kept feeling like it should be 1 person. I didn't buy it as a group voice because the teens within the group were too disparate. This just felt like a single teen girl.
A tad disappointing.
Thanks to Random House Children's and NetGalley for a copy in exchange for a fair and honest review.
