Derivative Trial still a fun read
So we've got a 12 yr old boy going to magic school. Was the story derivative? You bet. Even the twist didn't really elevate it into any kind of fresh new territory. But, that said, I still had fun reading it. It's a fluffy MG magic book that isn't going to set the world on fire but I enjoyed spending time with the characters. I may even read book two.
